How do you play Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5?
We'll use screens to show you how. It's easy!
Inserting coins & purchasing cards
n order to register your own car and save your Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 4 world play data, we recommend you purchase a "BANAPASSPORT".
*You cannot play "Online Ghost Versus Battle Mode" without a BANAPASSPORT Card.
*With one BANAPASSPORT Card, you can register up to 100 cars and save play data.
First, insert coins and step on the accelerator pedal. Proceed according to the directions on the screen.
f you already have a BANAPASSPORT Card, touch the card reader with it. If you don't have one, you can proceed with "NO", displayed on the right, and purchase one.
Select a car
Select the car you want to use.
The cars available from each maker will be displayed, so make your selection from Maker ⇒ Car. After selecting a car, choose a body color to fix your selection.
Select a transmission
Select from an "Automatic" or "Manual" transmission.
Automatic provides simple controls which don't require you to shift gears. With Manual, you can change gears freely using the "6-speed shift lever" on the left side.
This can be changed later from the game machine or from the Wangan Terminal, so if you are playing for the first time, we recommend choosing "Automatic" and then trying Manual once you've gotten used to driving.
Choose a name
Input the name of your car. This name cannot be changed later, so think of a name before starting the game. You can enter up to five characters.
To input characters, you can turn the steering wheel left and right or use the 6-speed shift lever to move the cursor up, down, left, and right. (move the lever up, down, left, and right from the central Neutral position.) Press the accelerator pedal to set one character. You can also step on the brake pedal to delete one character.
Also, by selecting the icon on the very bottom row, you can change the characters entered. You can use upper- and lowercase English letters by selecting "ABC" and "abc", or use symbols (★?!@, etc.).
Finally, once you've decided on the name, place the cursor "OK" button on the bottom-right and press the accelerator pedal to finalize it. *Some words cannot be entered. If prohibited words are entered, it will be deleted when "OK" button is pressed and you will be returned to the start, so please reenter another name.
Complete registration
After completing the above registration, your car's data confirmation screen will be displayed.
On top of being able to change transmission settings,
retire settings, and BGM volume, game contents will be updated according to your progress (you can turn pages using the green "View Change button" on the right side of the game machine).
You can check the same pages anytime on the "Wangan Terminal".
